I recently published my Aeonium and String of Bananas PDF and Video Class. But I’ve been wanting to make this black aeonium tree for a long time, so I took some extra time to make and publish this one as well. The design is fairly similar to the original aeonium, with an extra layer of leaves, and of course, a more advanced shading pattern. The PDF also contains instructions on how to make the aeonium in tree-form and plant it.

Techniques Used:

• Continuous Loops
• Continuous Wraparound Loops
• Basic Frame
• Lacing / lace-as-you-go
• Bottom Wire Extensions
• Continuous Basic Frame

The PDF is 17 pages long and contains the materials list, over 70 high quality images, and detailed written instructions for making the plant.

Due to the coloring in the plant, I just felt like it needed a pot that was a little creepy to fit the mood. So I used a planter shaped like a carved skull. You can purchase the same planter here. Colored Copper Wires:
• 9 ft (2.8 m) 24g (0.5 mm) peridot or light green (leaves a, b, c)
• 30 ft (9.2 m) 24g (0.5 mm) burgundy or magenta (leaf d, e)
• 90 ft (27.5 m) 24g (0.5 mm) purple (leaf f)
• 10 ft (3.1 m) 32g (0.2 mm) burgundy or 30g (0.25 mm) magenta (leaf lacing)
• 20 ft (6.1 m) 28g (0.3 mm) gold (stem wrapping)
• 25 ft (7.6 m) 30g (0.25 mm) any color (assembly)
